const SIGNING_FAILURE_REASONS: readonly ["user_rejected", "failed"]

Why a signer could not produce a signature (SIGNING_FAILED.params.reason). A token for the app to map to its own text.

  • user_rejected: the person declined in their wallet (an EIP-1193 4001, an ethers ACTION_REJECTED, or a wallet that words it "User rejected/denied ..."). Nothing is wrong: they may simply try again.
  • failed: anything else the signer threw (a locked wallet, an unreachable extension, a wallet that refused). The original error is cause.
